Artist Victor Chakravarty explores Danish postal communication through three artistic sections. The work Dead Letter Office reconstructs a historical postal department dedicated to unaddressed and undeliverable letters as a sculptural installation. Eight photographic works are placed site-specifically at DOKK1 and investigate physical traces from the artist's own archive of over 1,000 letters sent between 2007–2025.
An audio work presents two artificially intelligent systems (GPTs) in dialogue with each other based on Chakravarty's letter collection – a work that uses the same technology as modern communication to reflect on the possible future of letter culture. The exhibition explores the postal system as infrastructure for community, the history of Danish correspondence over 400 years, and how digital systems have replaced publicly owned communication.
