Text Through Time is a weekly writing workshop for anyone passionate about writing and exploring language. The workshop celebrates the joy of storytelling and love of language without being pedantic about spelling or grammar rules. You can work with rap, poetry, prose, diary, film scripts, or anything else entirely — what matters is your writing engagement.
Every Tuesday from August 18 to December 15, participants meet at Gellerup Library from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You will engage in short writing exercises, read texts aloud to each other, and receive constructive feedback. You explore various forms and how to communicate effectively with readers or audiences.
Instructors
- PC Asmussen — former director of GØGLERSKOLEN in Aarhus. He debuted in 2019 with the novel Friendship for Life, which was nominated for the year's debut prize, received the Underground Poetry Prize 2023, and has also published The Sea of Childhood.
- Silas Stochholm — poet and creative initiator behind the poetry movement UngeDanskeDigtere, a non-elitist writing community that has created open stage events, writing instruction, and "Pop-Up Poetry" events in Aarhus.
Practical information
The workshop is open to everyone over 15 years old with a passion for writing. Participation is completely free and requires no advance booking — just show up! The event is a collaboration between FO-Aarhus, Health and Care, and Culture and Citizen Services, Aarhus Municipality, as well as Aarhus Libraries.
