Learn to repair and transform your clothes through darning and weaving – a craft technique that combines functionality with artistic expression. You'll work on mending holes and concealing wear on knitted or woven textiles, where the result can be as invisible or decorative as you wish.
During the workshop, we will cover:
- Introduction to darning and the technique throughout history
- Basic darning and weaving as a foundational technique
- A selection of patterns at varying difficulty levels
- How to develop your own design
The workshop is open to everyone from 15 years and up. Feel free to bring worn clothes or textiles you'd like to work with – otherwise fabric will be provided. If you have your own embroidery supplies such as thread, needles, embroidery hoops or darning eggs, you're welcome to bring them, but it's not necessary as we provide materials and tools.
