Hjemmeværnets Musikkorps Aarhus is recruiting both percussion and brass instrumentalists — cornet, althorn, baritone, euphonium, trombone and tuba. The orchestra comprises approximately 35 musicians ranging from 22 to 80 years of age, and members share a passion for music and ensemble playing.
Rehearsals take place every Monday from 19.30 to 22.00 in Højbjerg. The orchestra is conducted by Eyal Pesach Weinberger and performs a broad repertoire: traditional military music, brass band compositions from both Denmark and abroad, popular music and classical works. The orchestra performs approximately 12–14 concerts annually — both entertaining and more formal arrangements under Home Guard auspices.
As a member of the community, you may borrow an instrument. There is no membership fee, and your work in the Home Guard consists solely of musical performance. Free trial rehearsal can be booked.
