Nuala Kennedy and Eamon O'Leary return to Teater Refleksion after their most recent visit in 2023. The duo presents an intimate concert evening with traditional, reinterpreted and newly written Irish music, performed with flute, guitar, singing and vocal harmonies. The repertoire includes both traditional songs and original compositions on themes such as love, courtship, work, rituals, emigration and war.
Nuala Kennedy is from County Louth and Eamon O'Leary from Dublin. They have played together since 2011, when Nuala moved to New York, where Eamon has lived for more than 20 years. Both are experienced musicians who have performed at festivals and smaller acoustic venues in Europe, North America, Australia, Newfoundland, Alaska and at the Arctic Circle.
Before the concert, the musicians will lead a workshop in Irish songs from 17.30-18.30 at Teater Refleksion 17:30 - 18:30. Here you can sing along and learn about what vocally creates the Irish sound and about the history behind the songs. After the workshop, a vegetarian dinner will be served and is included in the price. The number of places is very limited, and a ticket for the workshop must be purchased when you buy your concert ticket.
Admission: 100-330 kr. Tickets can also be bought at the door, but only MobilePay is accepted there. Beer, wine and water will be available for purchase during the concert. If you have difficulty walking or use a wheelchair, there is a lift in the courtyard, and the organiser will help with access on the day.
