LILY is a contemporary interpretation of the myth of Lilith – Adam's first wife, who chose to leave the Garden of Paradise because she refused to submit. The work explores the struggle between self-realization and social expectations through the story of Lily, a ninth-grade girl at Paradisgårdsskolen, where girls are babygirls and boys ride mopeds.
Lily longs to be chosen by Adam, but in her effort to meet the expectations of her environment, she gradually loses herself. The more she tries to conform to Adam's view of her, the more the monster inside her grows. An intense and provocative investigation of identity, power, and resistance.
NB: The performance contains depictions of violence, drugs, sex, and abuse. Recommended age limit: 12 years.
