Join a guided tour through the museum's collections and discover the story of Ovartaci – the artist, the person, and the patient. An experienced museum guide leads you through selected artworks and objects that tell the story of Louis Marcussen, a painter's apprentice who was admitted to a hospital and found his artistic voice and identity through his works.
The tour casts both moving and thought-provoking light on life at Psychiatric Hospital in Risskov and the vision behind the hospital's founding in the mid-19th century – the first psychiatric hospital of its kind outside Copenhagen. The tour lasts approximately one hour, and you are encouraged to explore the exhibition on your own afterwards.
Access to the guided tour requires registration. There are 20 places distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are non-refundable.
